What is the ITIN number and how can I apply for one?
The ITIN is a tax identification number in the United States. It is controlled by the IRS (the agency to which US taxes are paid) and is used by foreigners who are not eligible to obtain a Social Security Number.
ITIN stands for “Individual Taxpayer Identification Number” and is used for two purposes. First of all, the ITIN is used to pay taxes on the economic income obtained in the United States. Secondly, the ITIN is useful. to identify spouse and dependent children who do not have Social Security so that taxpayers can claim an exemption for that spouse or dependent.

A tax return is a document that must be filed with the government that shows the amount of income you earned in a particular year. For personal federal tax filings, there are different forms as well as different eligibility requirements that you must meet first.
Income documentation:
The first piece of information you need to start preparing your tax return is the total amount of income you earned during the year. Any employer that pays you a salary must send you a W-2 form each year, which reports your annual income and the amount of taxes that were withheld. Independent contractors typically receive income reports on Form 1099-NEC. If you are a sole proprietor, then you are responsible for collecting all information regarding your business profits or losses and then reporting it in the attached Schedule C.
What information is needed for tax returns?
Previous tax payments
If you have taxes withheld from your job income during the year, you can enter them at the end of your tax return to reduce the amount of taxes you still owe. Contractors or workers who receive Form 1099 income do not have taxes withheld and must pay estimated taxes, which must also be entered on the tax return. Although Form 1099 does not reflect any tax withholding, your Form W-2 will report the total amount of taxes you paid during the year.
List of Requirements needed for tax reporting:
- Carry all personal information and that of your dependents with you.
Income (Forms W-2’s, 1099’s, unemployment income, etc.), social security card, identification, dates of birth for all applicants.
Don’t forget to include your medical expenses, house interest, donations, uniforms, miles, babysitting expenses or alimony, etc.
Summarize all the expenses that will be included in the declaration. (The preparer cannot do this for you.)
It is important that you communicate to your preparer; if you have or have had problems with the IRS in previous years, especially with the earned income credit.
Always try to provide correct address and telephone numbers where the IRS can contact you in case you disconnect your line or it is out of service.
It is important that both husband and wife are present if you file a joint return with your spouse.
If you have to claim any credits, add a dependent you didn’t include on your tax return, forgot to include a W-2 or any income. We also make amendments or modifications to statements already made.
We also prepare statements from past years.
